Jean Hailes PCOS Service

The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health in Clayton has established an evidence based multi-disciplinary specialist service for women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. The service provides education, a lifestyle management program and comprehensive specialist medical assessment and management planning, provided over three visits. Ongoing management is then transferred back to primary care supported by a detailed management plan.

To access the service, women must have had a diagnosis of PCOS confirmed via the presence of any two of the following three factors (as per Rotterdam 2003 criteria):

  • Oligo / anovulation
  • Clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism
  • Polycystic ovaries on ultrasound.
