Medicare Australia ‘Forum’ Newsletter.
Medicare Australia provides quarterly newsletters to GPs and practice staff including useful information on utilising Medicare Item Numbers, and other Medicare Australia initiatives. GPMP Care Planning Item Number (GPMP 721 and GPMP Review 732).
The Health Insurance Regulations 2010 and MBS item has been amended to clarify the use of MBS items care planning item (MBS 721-732). As a results of Medicare has announced the following ‘Care Planning: MBS Items 721-732: A care planning item (721-732) can be billed on the same day as a consultation item for the same patient by the same provider. Both services must be clinically relevant’.
