The RCH immunisation service reports they are still receiving referrals for children that have egg allergy
to be seen at the Royal Children’s Hospital service regarding their MMR vaccine.
As per page 350 in the Australian Immunisation Handbook (9th edn):
“….. Because MMR vaccine viruses are not cultured in eggs and the vaccine does not contain egg protein, MMR can be given safely to those with anaphylactic sensitivity to eggs."
