We would like to draw your attention to 2 exciting new adult immunisation resources:
- NCIRS have just released an adult vaccination fact sheet for immunisation providers
The fact sheet provides a summary of the current national recommendations on vaccines required during adult hood, including those funded under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and those that are recommended in the current (9th) edition of The Australian Immunisation Handbook. It also highlights adults who may be at higher risk of certain vaccine preventable diseases and need additional vaccines, such as pregnant women, immigrants and health care workers.
The fact sheet is available on “Immunisation Resources” page of the NCIRS website www.ncirs.edu.au/immunisation/index.php.
- An 'Adult immunisation questionnaire' for patients
The 'Adult immunisation questionnaire' for patients to complete. It compliments the above resource in identifying and recommending immunisation of eligible adults. When immunising it is important to provide written documentation of any vaccinations administered by using the 'Personal immunisation record' card.
The 'Adult immunisation questionnaire' comes in a convenient tear off pad of 50 sheets and the 'Personal immunisation record' comes as a wallet sized card.
They can both be ordered online at www.health.vic.gov.au/immunisation/provider-forms/order_resources_online
