Participation for Health Short Course – EOI

VicHealth's Participation for Health Short Course - (At VicHealth – Carlton)

VicHealth would like to extend an invitation to you and your colleagues to attend the VicHealth Participation for Health Short Course.

This two day course will be held at our offices in Carlton on Monday 7 & Tuesday 8 December 2009 and is free of charge. It is aimed at organisations from a wide range of sectors, including health, education, crime prevention, arts, community groups, neighbourhood houses, local government, arts and sporting groups, as “mental and physical health is everybody’s business”.

The course aims to increase workers' capacity to familiarise with a determinants approach to mental and physical wellbeing, as well as provide resources and models to enhance evidence based project planning, implementation and evaluation of activity with specific focus on VicHealth’s New Participation for Health Promotion Framework. Please note this course focuses on capacity building to increase organisational ability to improve communities’ mental and physical health and wellbeing, not on early identification, intervention or treatment of mental illness.

This is the last course of the year and spaces are limited. Registration is by expression of interest (see attached form). Simply email or fax this form to shortcourse@vichealth.vic.gov.au or 03 9667 1375 (Attention: Sarah Posner). You will be notified within a few days if your application has been successful.
(Please note attendance for the full two days is required).

For further information please contact me directly at sposner@vichealth.vic.gov.au or 03 9667 1310.
