TOP TIPS: Specialist clinics (Feb 2012)
Referrers and patients can now email anything relating to a specialist clinic appointment, eg: referrals, query on referral status, request to cancel or change apt, change of patient address etc.
3 forms of patient ID required, eg: full name, DoB, address or hospital UR.
The email is checked throughout every day.
Please send all referrals to fax: 9345 5034 or email clinics@rch.org.au
Individual departments can no longer accept direct referrals – they have to redirect your referral to central Specialist Clinics which may delay urgent referrals. There is also an increased risk we won’t receive your referral if faxed to an individual department.
The Royal Children’s Hospital can now send electronic letters from RCH Specialist Clinics via Ozepost. The service is free, and involves downloading some simple software.
Correspondence will arrive electronically directly into your inbox for results, and be filed into your incoming documents folder, once read, thus avoiding the need for opening of mail by reception staff and scanning!
For more information please contact Ozescribe, tel 1300 727 423 or sales@ozescribe.com.au, or to enrol directly go to www.ozescribe.com.au/ozepost.
The RCH is trialling telehealth for patients in eligible regions (outer metro, rural and regional).
