Easy Access to Royal Melbourne Hospital Outpatient Clinics for Patients with Viral Hepatitis.
There are a large number of patients in Melbourne with chronic hepatitis B and chronic hepatitis C, with varying severities of liver disease. There are treatments available that offer good control of hepatitis B, and cure (sustained virological remission) in hepatitis C, and many just need advice on how to maintain a healthy liver.
At Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Liver Rapid clinic is a relatively new clinic, which will be expanding in 2011. Referrals will be able to be seen and assessed for treatment within a few weeks, by senior specialists experienced in antiviral therapy and chronic liver disease management. This is a medicare funded clinic, so please assist us by making sure that your provider number and date of referral are on the referral letter.
