Have your say!! – research project on ethics and policy for centralised health records.
A PhD research project is currently being conducted by RMIT student Trevor Stone on the tension between traditional doctor/patient privacy and to the move to modern centralised e-health databases, such as proposed by NEHTA.
The title of the paper is "Breaking the Hippocratic Oath:? The collection, storage and exchange of patient data in centralised databases."
The researcher is looking for inner city GPs to interview for approximately 1 hour. You will be asked about your views on centralised e-health records held by the government. Is this a great practical step forward? Or a breach of the fundamental doctor/patient privacy relationship? Is it a good idea - but in certain conditions?
If you would like to be involved and have your say, please contact Trevor on 0400242756 or tjgstone@gmail.com.
