Melbourne General Practice Network provides support and advice to practices that are developing and improving their Information Management (IM) and Information Technology (IT).

Information Management is the collection and management of informative data from one or many sources and is then, the distribution of that information to one or many audiences. Sometimes individuals or organisations have a stake in it, or even a right to the electronic information. Information Management is the organisation of and control over a structure, processing and delivery of electronic information.

Information Technology is the area of managing technology which spreads across a wide variety of areas including but not limited to things such as processes, information systems, computer hardware, programming languages and computer software.
