Criterion 2.1.2 – Patient Feedback
The changes to the patient feedback requirements from the 3rd to the 4th edition standards was driven by feedback the RACGP received regarding the limited value practices had placed on the collection through the 3rd edition. If patient feedback was used to drive the quality improvement activities of the practice then it was determined to be more valuable. In order to obtain reliable data to make significant and meaningful quality improvement plans, that validated questionnaires and surveys be used.
The RACGP has provided a companion guide for collecting patient feedback, which can be accessed:

Client Focused Evaluations Program (CFEP) has designed an instrument called the Patient Accreditation Improvement Survey (PAIS). There are 2 versions available: one for whole of practice feedback, and one for practitioner specific feedback. The CFEP questionnaire was approved by the RACGP in May 2011.
